Call forwarding is the feature that routes incoming calls to another number. It lets Rispondly's assistant, a colleague or voicemail answer when you cannot. You enable it with a code dialled on your phone and disable it the same way. Here are the codes, carrier by carrier.
Standard GSM codes (work almost everywhere)
The codes below are GSM standard and work on most mobile lines and on many VoIP landlines. Replace NUMBER with the full destination number including the area code, for example 0551234567 or 3331234567.
Unconditional forwarding (all calls): enable with *21*NUMBER# and disable with #21#.
Forward when unanswered (after 20 seconds): enable with *61*NUMBER**20# and disable with #61#. Allowed values are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds.
Forward when busy: enable with *67*NUMBER# and disable with #67#.
Forward when unreachable (phone off or no signal): enable with *62*NUMBER# and disable with #62#.
To check status: *#21#, *#61#, *#67#, *#62#. To clear all forwarding: ##002#.
TIM
Mobile: standard codes work. Forward when unanswered: *61*NUMBER**20# then the call key. Alternatively, from the MyTIM app under Services.
Landline: on TIM fibre lines forwarding is managed from the modem or the customer area (Trasferimento di chiamata). On old copper contracts dial *21*NUMBER# from the home phone.
Vodafone
Mobile: standard codes. Forward when unanswered: *61*NUMBER**20#. In the My Vodafone app you can view and change active forwarding.
Landline: from the Vodafone Station, Phone section, or with the standard codes from the phone connected to the Station.
WindTre
Mobile: standard codes. On some legacy Wind SIMs forward when unanswered is set with *61*NUMBER**20# and cleared with #61#.
Landline: from the WindTre modem or the customer area, Voice services section.
Iliad
Iliad supports the standard codes on every SIM. Forward when unanswered: *61*NUMBER**20#. The personal area shows the status of active forwarding. Iliad has no traditional landlines with a geographic number for forwarding.
Fastweb
Landline: forwarding is enabled from the MyFastweb customer area, Phone section, or with *21*NUMBER# from the home phone. Mobile: standard codes.
What forwarding costs
Activation is free with every carrier. The forwarded call may be charged as an outgoing call from your number: to an Italian landline or mobile it is almost always covered by the minutes included in your plan. With Rispondly the destination number is Italian, so forwarding has no extra cost on most plans.
Careful with fibre landlines: some contracts tie the phone number to the connection. Enabling forwarding is safe; porting the number to another carrier, however, can cancel the fibre contract. Check the terms first.
Which forwarding to choose with Rispondly
If you want to answer when you can: forward when unanswered (*61*) with 20 seconds. The phone rings, and if you do not answer it goes to the assistant.
If you want the assistant to always answer: unconditional forwarding (*21*). Useful in the treatment room, on the floor or on closing days.
With Rispondly you can change mode from the panel without touching the codes: we set unconditional forwarding once and you decide, day by day, who answers.
